The management of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education has suspended all remaining activities for the Students’ Union Government (SUG) Week with immediate effect.
The decision follows reported activities involving suspected cultists during the students’ week, which have heightened tension and raised concerns over the safety and security of students on campus.
In a notice signed by the University Registrar, Dr. Chinonye Abraham Ajie, the management directed students to return to their classes on Thursday, August 13, 2026, for normal academic activities.
The university warned that any student who fails to attend lectures would be held responsible for their actions.
Management also strongly cautioned students against engaging in any activity considered inimical to their academic pursuits or capable of disrupting peace and order within the university community.
