The Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE), Rumuolumeni, Port Harcourt, has ranked seventh among universities in the 2026 Ranking of Universities for staff Google Scholar Profile submission.
The development was contained in a statement signed by the university’s Public Relations Officer, Dr Ngozi Okiridu, following the Senate meeting held on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at the Postgraduate Hall of the institution.
Okiridu said the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Okechuku Onuchuku, announced the ranking at the meeting, and commended academic staff whose articles and publications were cited on Google Scholar, resulting in the university’s improved performance.
He thanked the staff for giving the university the needed visibility and urged them to sustain the tempo.
Onuchuku also appreciated Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, for approving the implementation of the agreement reached with the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), which culminated in the new salary structure recently received by staff.
The Vice-Chancellor also commended the IAUE ASUU Chairman, Professor Obinna Prince Ikechi, for putting the necessary machinery in place for the implementation, as well as the Bursary staff who worked round the clock to ensure its fruition.
