MY EMPOWERMENT WILL BE WARD TO WARD AS MY TARGET IS TO GET THE LOCAL MEN AND WOMEN AND NOT MY FRIENDS AND CLOSE ASSOCIATES… CHIEF DAVID OMEREJI.
The Caretaker Committee Chairman of Emohua Local Government Area, Hon. Chief David Chinedu Omereji has congratulated the National President of the National Union of Emolga Students worldwide, Comrade Samuel Chukwu, on his emergence in the just concluded election of Emolga Students held at Ojims College in Rumuji.
In a courtesy visit by the students to the Chairman, Chief David Omereji highlighted a few things his less than two months administration have done so far. Namely; 1. Completion of Ubimini road. 2. Ongoing construction of Ibaa road. 3. The completion of Elele Alimini Health Centre is ongoing. 4. Fencing of Emohua High Court awarded and completed. 5. The completion of the Emohua High Court is ongoing. 6. Bought 5 transformers and distributed them to Elele Alimini 2, Itu-Akpabu 2, and Egbeda 1, respectively. 7. The restoration of electricity in the entire Emolga is ongoing.
The Chairman also used the opportunity to inform the students that he will soon commence empowerment in less than two weeks’ time to all the wards in Emolga and assure them that each ward will be given #10,000,000.00 for their empowerment which will amount to #140, 000,000.00 in the 14 wards. The Chairman said the essence of the ward to ward empowerment is to reach out to the people in the local areas because nobody is more important than the other, as he has decided not to just give money to those around him and call it empowerment of Emolga people.
The Chairman further advised the students to take their academic work seriously because that is the essence of them being in school and nothing more pretentious than that. He also ordered his SSA on Students Affairs and SSA on Basic Education to work out modalities for bursary payments and payments registration of WAEC and NECO for all Emolga students immediately. The Chairman gave a take-off grant to the students and urged them to avoid division in leadership
Responding onbehalf of Emolga students, Comrade Samuel Chukwu who recently emerged as the President, thanked the Chairman for the rear privilege and congratulated him on his appointment as the Chairman of the Caretaker Committee of Emohua Local Government Area. He said what they saw and have heard the administration have embarked on in less than two months is truly a testament that Chief David Omereji is the Moses of our time. He expressed gratitude to God for giving Emolga the likes of Chief David Omereji through our God-fearing and working governor, Sir Sim Fubara.
He promised the Chairman the total and uncompromising loyalty of the students to support his administration in all ramifications because they met what he described as BEYOND SURPRISE in the person of Chief David Omereji.
He also promised that they would work out modalities as directed by the Chairman for the payment of the bursary within the shortest period of time.
