The Executive Chairman of Andonni Local Government Area of Rivers State, Hon. Erastus Awortu says he has forgiven a youth sent to kill him on his inauguration day.

The council boss, disclosed this during the end of a 3-day peace and reconciliation camping for repentant cultists in the area.

Awortu, who commended the repentant cultists for the bold step, appealed to the people of the LGA to forgive them and give peace a chance.

He said the council would device a means to ensure the release of all those in detention. 

He admonished the youths not to engage in crime and criminality anymore, as he assured them of equal opportunities.

Some of the repentant cultists in a chat with journalists, commended the council boss for the initiative and vowed never to return to crime.
