A student of the Rivers State University, identified as Peter Nwachukwu has accused officers of the anti-cultism unit of the Rivers State Police Command, Rukpokwu, of extorting the sum of fifty thousand naira from him, after he was tagged a cultist and internet fraudster.
Peter, who disclosed this in a chat with journalists yesterday, also accused the officers of torturing and brutalizing him, before taking him to their station at former SARS office, Rukpokwu.
The student, said he was in a cab when the officers in a white Sienna intercepted him last Thursday.
Peter stated that the officers tied his hands and threw him into their vehicle, after he had received a slap for asking what his crime was.
According to him, two of the officers sat on him for minutes, while in the vehicle, as he kept shouting that he could not breathe.
The student, alleged that the leader of the team threatened to kill him, after he was released for creating a scene during his arrest.
He called on the Police hierarchy and members of the public to come to his aid, as he is scared of what might happen to him.
