Former governor of Rivers State and current Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi says he is yet to see banners urging him to contest the 2023 presidential election.
The minister, disclosed this during an interview with Channels Television, at the Eagle Square, venue of the National Convention of the All Progressives Congress in Abuja on Saturday.
He also said that he is yet to receive calls urging him to contest the highest political office in he country.
When asked if he is contesting the 2023 presidential election, he said everybody wants to be president, but it is no small feat, as contesting for such office, requires a lot of consultation.
He noted that for him to run for president, he must consult his wife; children, family members, priest and his God, but he is yet to do all that.
However, he confirmed that one thing he does not lack is courage and that once he sets his mind on anything, he goes ahead to achieve it no matter what.
On the challenges facing the APC: Amaechi said they always arise anytime a transition is close. However, he stated that they are surmountable, and are merely due to different interests.
He also explained that it is important they get things right, to be able to match the People’s Democratic Party in next year’s general election.
Furthermore, when he was asked about politicking in Rivers State and if he was scared of Governor, Nyesom Wike: he replied, “I am very afraid of Wike” while laughing.
