Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has denied dumping the All Progressives Congress (APC) stating that his relationship with the party remains cordial ahead of the party’s primaries, insisting that nothing has changed.
Governor Fubara made the remark shortly after inspecting the Psychiatric and General Hospital project in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The governor urged Rivers people and Nigerians to ignore the reports he described as false.
Speaking during the inspection, Fubara explained that the new General Hospital project was conceived following an emergency visit which exposed serious gaps in mental health care and access to quality healthcare services within the area.
According to him, communities such as Rumuigbo, Rumuola and Rumuolumeni lacked a standard hospital close to residents, noting that the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital was too far to adequately serve the growing population.
Governor Fubara expressed satisfaction with the completion of the project, describing it as a fulfilled promise aimed at improving the well-being of the people.
