The Rivers State Police Command has been given a two-day ultimatum by Human Rights Organisations in the state to produce the officer accused of raping a widow at Tai, or face mass protest against them.
A widow had accused a police officer identified as Peter Ebah of raping her in a beer parlour after she was arrested her for not wearing a face mask.
Chairman of the Civil Society Organisations in the State, Enefaa Georgewill in a statement yesterday, said the matter should not be swept under the carpet. He called on the state police to investigate and prosecute the said officer.
