England International and Skipper of Liverpool FC, Jordan Henderson has been named the Football Writers’ Association Best Footballer of the Year, for the 2019/2020 EPL season which saw Liverpool emerge champions after a 30-year wait.
Henderson was nominated alongside his team-mates Virgil van Dijk and Sadio Mane, Man City’s Kevin De Bruyne and Marcus Rashford on the list of top 5 best footballers.
De Bruyne of Man City came second in the voting with Rashford third, while Alisson and Van Dijk followed suit.
Henderson in a statement said: “I’d like to say how appreciative I am of the support of those who voted for me and the Football Writers’ Association in general.
