The Rivers State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Peters Nwagor, has expressed satisfaction with the high level of compliance among students and teachers following the resumption of the third term for the 2025/2026 academic session.
Dr. Nwagor gave the commendation on Monday during a monitoring exercise across schools in Port Harcourt, noting that academic activities had commenced smoothly in all the institutions visited.
According to him, the turnout of both students and teachers was impressive, with schools recording full resumption.
“We have gone round some schools in Port Harcourt and witnessed full resumption. We are highly impressed by the turnout of students and teachers,” he said.
The Commissioner praised teachers for their commitment and encouraged them to remain dedicated to their duties, emphasizing their role in shaping the future of young learners.
He also urged parents to ensure their children return to school promptly, stressing that normal academic activities are already underway. Students were equally advised to settle back into their studies without delay.
In her remarks, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Mrs. Azibaolanari Uzoma-Nwogu, called on students to remain focused and avoid negative influences that could jeopardize their education and future ambitions.
The monitoring exercise forms part of efforts by the Ministry of Education to ensure a smooth and effective academic calendar for the term.
