Unknown Gunmen have reportedly attacked Police checkpoints and stations in Rivers State, killing over seven security operatives, on Friday.
Spokesperson of the State Police Command, Nnamdi Omoni confirmed the incident in a statement, Today.
The hoodlums attacked the Rumuji Police Station, killing two mobile policemen, as several patrol vans were burnt.
The checkpoint of the newly formed security outfit, C4i and another checkpoint at Ogbakiri junction in Emuoha LGA, were also attacked.
Gunmen had few weeks ago attacked Police formations in the state, killing about eight security Operatives. A development which forced the state government to impose a dusk-to-dawn curfew.
