The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has alleged that a GPS tracking device was secretly attached to the vehicle he used in Port Harcourt on Sunday.
Sowore said the device, identified as a Spytec GPS GL300 tracker, was a subscription-based tracking device with the IMEI number 860201067972185.
He said the discovery had raised concerns over who deployed the tracker and their motive.
“We will keep tracking the trackers at DSS until we establish exactly who deployed this device and we know their intention already,” Sowore said.
The AAC candidate did not disclose further details on how the device was discovered or when it was allegedly attached to the vehicle.
As you may know, Sowore was in Port Harcourt as a panelist at the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Annual General Conference, where he participated in discussions on Nigeria’s political future, security and governance.
