The Rivers State Government has rescinded its decision to allow churches hold full Easter Sunday services across the state.
Governor Wike had in a state wide broadcast on Thursday April 9 2020, lifted the restrictions on church gatherings and places of worship in the state.
After the criticisms that trailed his decision from some stakeholders, the state government has today reversed its directive to allow full church services hold.
The State Government in a press statement signed by the Hon. Commissioner of Information and Communication Paulinus Nsirim, stated that the decision was taken after due consultations with key stakeholders.
He directed churches to stick to 50 persons per service to maintain social distancing, in order to help curb the spread of the COVID-19.
