Traders at the computer village in Ogbunabali, have called on the Police to come to their rescue, following incessant attacks by suspected cultists in the area.

Some of the traders in a chat with our correspondent on Wednesday, said suspected cultists attacked them yesterday, and carted away goods worth over five million naira.

They said the boys are demanding a monthly fee of five hundred thousand naira as “marching ground.”

Meanwhile, the Rivers State Police Command, confirmed the attack on traders at the market.

Spokesperson of the Command, Nnamdi Omoni in a statement, said the attackers were rival cult groups who had gone to the market to demand money from traders.

He said immediately they were alerted by the traders, the boys fled the scene before the arrival of police officers, who restored peace in the area.
