The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has revealed that Dr. Dax George-Kelly, a former Rivers State Commissioner for Works, has picked the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship nomination form ahead of the 2027 election in Rivers State.
Wike made the disclosure during a press briefing with journalists, bringing an end to months of speculation surrounding his preferred candidate for the race.
He expressed confidence in George-Kelly’s ability to contest and govern effectively if elected, noting that the process leading to his emergence complied with the party’s guidelines.
The development is expected to shape political alignments in Rivers State as stakeholders begin to position themselves ahead of the 2027 gubernatorial election.
