Former Rivers State Commissioner for Works, Dr. George-Kelly has congratulated Hon. O.K. Chinda on his emergence as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, pledging full support for his candidacy ahead of the general election.
In a statement issued in Port Harcourt, George-Kelly said he stepped down for Chinda during the recently concluded APC governorship primaries in the interest of unity and the progressive agenda of the party.
He described the decision that produced Chinda as the consensus candidate as a demonstration of maturity and foresight by the Rainbow Coalition in Rivers State.
According to him, the coalition showed commitment to presenting experienced and capable leadership for the state.
George-Kelly noted that Chinda’s years of service in the House of Representatives, coupled with his understanding of legislative processes and governance, make him qualified to lead Rivers State.
He expressed confidence that Chinda’s experience, grassroots support, and leadership capacity would translate into effective governance and development for the state.
The former aspirant also pledged to work for the electoral success of the APC candidate in the forthcoming governorship election.
He reaffirmed his support for the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying the Renewed Hope Agenda is already yielding positive results across the country.
George-Kelly further declared loyalty to the Rainbow Coalition in Rivers State, led by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, commending his leadership and direction within the APC in the state.
He called on APC members, supporters of the Rainbow Coalition, and Rivers residents to unite behind Hon. O.K. Chinda ahead of the general election, expressing optimism that victory is achievable for the party.
