Arise News broadcaster Rufai Oseni has criticised Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, describing his current political situation as “worse than being impeached.”
Speaking on Arise News on Thursday, Oseni said Governor Fubara appears unable to exercise control over his administration, arguing that the governor is no longer in charge of the affairs of his government.
Oseni made the remarks while reacting to comments by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, who recently said that Fubara had “committed no sin” by returning to the Rainbow Coalition. The governor had earlier announced his support for the coalition’s candidates and declared his return to the political alliance.
According to Oseni, it is unfortunate that Fubara has been unable to assert his authority or confront political godfatherism, despite enjoying widespread public support. He contrasted the governor’s situation with Wike’s tenure, noting that the former Rivers governor successfully resisted political godfatherism while in office.
