Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has visited the site of the collapsed four-storey building on Peter Odili Road in Port Harcourt to assess the situation and ongoing rescue operations.
During the inspection, the governor praised emergency responders and rescue teams for their commitment and dedication in searching for and rescuing victims trapped beneath the debris.
Fubara clarified that the building approval was granted by a federal agency, not the Rivers State Government.
He also extended his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the incident and wished those injured a speedy recovery as rescue efforts continue at the scene.
