MEDITATION SCRIPTURE: “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge because you have rejected knowledge I will also reject thee, that hast forgotten the law of they God, I will also forget thy children.”(Hos.4:6)
READ: ISA.11:1-5
And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: 2 And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD; 3 And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears: 4 But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth: with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked. 5 And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.
Knowledge is the accumulation of facts and data through studying, research, investigation, observation and even experience. Whatever you desire to gain knowledge about becomes your subject of study and close observation. The Spirit of knowledge enables you to collect, remember and access information. Wisdom, knowledge and understanding are brothers. Until you know, there is no understanding and without understanding there is no wisdom. Thank God we have access to the whole operation through the Spirit of God. Knowledge as we have seen comes from a deliberate attitude of searching out the truth.
The Spirit of knowledge works in two dimensions. Firstly, He gives you the enablement to know as you seek knowledge by study and exposure to certain experiences of life. From our meditation scripture you discover that not all who are exposed to certain information embrace them, “Because thou hast rejected knowledge.” This is where the Spirit of knowledge comes into operation. Those filled with this Spirit, seek knowledge, expose themselves to knowledge and act according to knowledge. Secondly the Spirit of knowledge operates with the mystery of revelations. One of the nine gifts of the Spirit is the word of knowledge. Here, the individual is given access to the supernatural realm, where he accesses information that was naturally unknown to him. This is one of the revelational gifts made available to the church for the building of the body of Christ. The Spirit of knowledge is the antidote against the Spirit of forgetfulness and loss of memory.
TURNING POINT: The Spirit of knowledge is the antidote against the Spirit of forgetfulness and loss of memory.
PRAYER POINT: Father, fill me with Your Spirit of knowledge.
