Fresh Manna 29 September
MEDITATION SCRIPTURE: “Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal; the LORD knoweth them that are His. And, let everyone that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.” (2 Tim.2:19)
READ: 1 COR. 3:10
10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon
One of the eminent signs of the last days is that there shall be a great falling away and the love of many shall grow cold (Matt.24:12). This is a true picture of today’s Church. Every day we read of so-called ministers of the gospel, falling into terrible sins such as fornications, adultery, avarices and even witchcraft. Recently, there was this shameful story of a pastor who visited a witch doctor, in search of power to grow his business (church). Unfortunately for him, the witch doctor was in dire need of human parts to perform certain rituals. Since he was the only available person, the witch doctor sacrificed him to renew his own powers. These are some of the terrible stories we hear every day. You see, the integrity of God’s Word is not judged by what men say or do. God is the Judge: He is God, all by Himself, irrespective of what men do. Jesus, the saviour of the world, by His death and resurrection laid for us a foundation of truth and holiness. Those who belong to Christ accept the Truth and walk in it. “As ye have therefore received Christ the LORD, so walk ye in Him: (Col.2:6). Claiming or confessing that you belong to Christ does not make you His Own, “The LORD knoweth them that are His own”.
“Walking in Christ” means, departing from iniquity. A lot of Church folks judge themselves by the testimonies of people around them. The truth is, most people around you may not really have the boldness to tell you how they truly feel about you. In an attempt to massage your ego or maybe not to be offensive, they give you a pass mark. If truly you want to have an accurate measurement of who you are, give the measuring rod to the Holy Spirit.
TURNING POINT: If truly you want to have an accurate measurement of who you are, give the measuring rod to the Holy Spirit.
PRAYER POINT: Blessed Redeemer, draw me close to You and help me to remain close to You.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: ISA. 4,5,6; GAL.3
