The Federal Government says it is set to begin cash payment to 200,000 Nigerians who do not have access to regular income.
Coordinator, National Social Safety Net Programme, Iorwa Apera, disclosed this in a statement on Monday.
He said those who will receive the cash payment were chosen from the national register and that 4 percent of the 35 million poor persons were elderly persons.
He also disclosed that citizens were identified by their respective communities.
“Two million individuals, categorised as senior citizens, were aggregated by location, education, age, status, disability and sex,” he also said.
