The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), says five of the six rectors recently appointed by the Federal Government for six new Polytechnics, are not qualified for the job.
The FG had in a statement few days ago announced names of Rectors for the new Polytechnics in the country.
President of ASUP, Anderson Ezeibe while reacting to the appointment on Sunday, said the appointment violates the Federal Polytechnics (Amendment) Act, 2019.
He said the appointees lack experience and are not fit for the job.
He called on the government to withdraw the names of the appointees, and make new appointments in accordance with the laws of the land.
