The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has declared that he will support only candidates who align with the vision of President Bola Tinubu in the forthcoming area council elections in the Federal Capital Territory, regardless of their political party affiliations.

Wike made the remarks on Saturday night in Abuja while speaking at the 60th birthday celebration of Senator Sandy Onor, an event marking what organisers described as decades of scholarship, leadership, service, and impact.

According to the minister, he has no regrets about backing President Tinubu and will not apologise for his political stance. He stressed that his priority in the February 21 area council polls is to ensure victory for candidates who share and promote the President’s development agenda.

He added that, as FCT minister, he considers it his responsibility to mobilise support for such candidates in the upcoming elections.
