More donations have been made to complement Nigeria’s anti-COVID-19 measures just as the number of cases begin to surge.
Recently, the European Union (EU) donated 1.2m euros to compliment the efforts already put in place to fight coronavirus in the country.
Confirming receipt of this donation, Peter Haukins, UNICEF representative in Nigeria, informed that the funds donated will be used in engaging with communities on how best to prevent the spread of coronavirus as well as compliment government’s efforts in ensuring health workers continue to test and treat cases in the country.
This donation comes as the number of COVID-19 cases in country increased rapidly in the last weeks.
The NCDC had announced the confirmation of another 117 coronavirus cases last night. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 789 with 25 fatalities recorded.
