TEXT: JEREMIAH 18:1-17
MEMORY VERSE: “And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so, he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it” (Jeremiah 18:4).
Every potter masters the act of vessel making, using the clay. The making process is usually characterized by many innovations and creativity, all in a bid to bring out the best, as the potter may desire. If in the process a crack is noticed or there is a heavy damage on the vessel, the potter goes through the making process again to get the vessel made right. Yes! He does not easily give up on his vessels, no matter how long it takes.
That is how our life is in the hand of God, the Ultimate Potter. Right from creation, God has remained committed to our being made into the purpose and plans for us. “And God said, let us make man in our image …” (Gen. 1:26). “Before I formed thee in the belly, I knew thee …” (Jer. 1:5). Thus, because we are His project, God deploys all His arsenals to ensure that we are properly made and fitted into His agenda.
Unfortunately, before the process is completed, so many lives experience cracks in the wall; others suffer serious fracture and dislocation. Some others totally destroyed almost beyond repairs. But God picks up the entire pieces and starts the making process all over again. He does not give up on us. The good news is, no matter what it was that marred our life, there is room to start the process and life in God, all over again.
Whatever is the reason your life is marred or battered or shattered, God is willing to heal and restore you to become whole (Joel 2:25; Jer. 19:11). There is nothing impossible with Him: “For with God nothing shall be impossible” (Luke 1:37). Don’t give up on God, because He will not give up on you. He will make you whole again.
- Come to Jesus in complete repentance and let His blood wash you; and submit to the Holy Spirit to help you
- Father, thank you for your commitment to remoulding me.
