TEXT: GENESIS 6:9-22
MEMORY VERSE:“But with thee will I establish my covenant and thou shalt come into the ark, thou and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons’ wives with thee” (Genesis 6:18 KJV).
Our text today tells us about the story of a man named Noah. In a generation filled with corruption and violence, he chose to remain just and perfect before God (Genesis 6: 9). Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord as a result of his walk with God and received the greatest reward from God: God chose to establish His covenant with him and his household.
While the whole earth and every living thing in the earth got destroyed and washed away by flood, Noah and his household were saved in the ark God instructed him to build.
Today, our world is full of corruption and every wicked imagination; killings, rapes (even in the house of God), rituals etc, just like in the days of Noah. As children of God, we are not expected to be influenced with the things around us; instead, we should stand up for Christ and do the things that will be pleasing in His sight.
Choose to have a lifestyle pleasing to God, irrespective of corruption and wickedness being perpetuated around you; and you will enjoy the blessings from God, just like Noah.
- How can we live a just and perfect life before God in the midst of a corrupt world?
- Father, grant me the grace to live for you, in Jesus’ name.
