ESOCS Devotional 30 June 2026 – Go Through the Door
MEMORY VERSE: “I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.” John 10:9
TEXT: JOHN 10:1-16
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. 2 But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. 3 To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4 And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. 5 Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.” 6 Jesus used this illustration, but they did not understand the things which He spoke to them.
7 Then Jesus said to them again, “Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. 8 All who ever came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. 9 I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. 10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep. 12 But a hireling, he who is not the shepherd, one who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf catches the sheep and scatters them. 13 The hireling flees because he is a hireling and does not care about the sheep. 14 I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own. 15 As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep. 16 And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd.

The process of entering into a place is of utmost importance for anyone who desires or wants his mission accomplished. This is hinged on the fact that the mood or way you enter determines the kind of reception you will be accorded. In a conventional house, there appears to be more windows that the doors. The windows and doors share similarities but with different purposes. While the window is basically for illumination and ventilation, the door illuminates, ventilates and also serve as a passageway.
To mistake the window for the door will require an extra exercise, struggles and would certainly need to pass the ‘Jump-ology’ course; not without the attendant pains and damages, coupled with the label of a thief and armed robber hanging on the fellow’s neck (John 10:10). Unfortunately, so many folks, Christians alike, have thrown caution to the wind by jumping several windows, and ignoring the Door – Jesus Christ the Lord.
Here are some provisions made available if you go through the door:
Salvation: “I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved…” The door guarantees your salvation from demonic oppression, arrows of the evil ones, and conspiracy of the wicked. . The Bible says, “The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe” (Prov. 18:10).
Liberty: “…and shall go in and out…” Going through the door arrests and changes all forms of bondage and captivity mentality. It gives you such kind of freedom and keeps you at ease. Look at this, you would go in and out without restrictions, limitations, no hindrance, and no hurdles at all. The Bible says, “If the Son (the Door) therefore shall set you free, you shall be free indeed” (John 8:36– paraphrased); “Now the LORD is that spirit: where the spirit of the LORD is there is liberty” (2 Cor. 3:27). Go through the Door today and be liberated from all forms of captivity.
Supernatural Access: “…and find pasture.” The Door gives you divine access to everything you need in life – no scarcity; but you would have wealth, prosperity, success, favour, breakthrough, healing, abundance, etc. The Psalmist says, “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want” (Ps. 23:1).
