ESOCS Devotional 3 July
TEXT: PHILIPPIANS 4:4-7
MEMORY VERSE: “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice.” Philippians 4:4 NIV
The above text could not have come at a better time than this. Life is full of temptations; ups and downs. There are good and bad times. Whichever comes our way, let us rejoice and give thanks to our Heavenly Father. We should rejoice always in health or in sickness in joy or in sorrow, in wealth or in poverty, in abundance or in distress, in pleasure or in pain.
Rejoicing under all circumstances, whether favourable or not in an attitude we should consciously cultivate in us.

We would be able to restrain ourselves from depression, which may affect our health adversely, Proverb 17:22 explains it better: A merry heart doeth good like a medicine but a broken spirit drieth the bones (KJV). We should keep being happy at all times and in all situations.
Life is full of trials and temptation. God uses trials and temptation to take us through a refining process to become better Christians. Let us remember that all things worketh together for good to those who love God Romans 8:28.
