ESOCS Devotional 2 July 2020
TEXT: ACTS 12:1-13
MEMORY VERSE: “Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the Church.” Acts 12:5 NKJV.
The Bible encourages us to bear one another’s burden and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ Galatians 6:2. In that wise, whenever anyone is in trouble we are enjoined to pray for the person for freedom.
I can remember when a member was kidnapped and payers were done by the church constantly throughout that night. Surprisingly, the victim escaped from the den of the kidnappers. The one million dollar question begging for answer is can we pray jointly, fervently, and constantly for anyone in trouble for God’s deliverance?

The constant prayer by the early church caused the release of Peter by Angels send by God Acts 12:7-8. In the recent past members prayed for others who are in trouble. Volunteer to intercede for others. Let us go back to what we are known for: Praying Band. When we don’t intercede for others the weaker brethren might be tempted to seek solution in a wrong place.
