ESOCS Devotional 21 June 2021
TEXT: JOHN 7:37-53
MEMORY VERSE: “Doth our law judge any man, before it hear him, and know what he doeth?” (John 7:51 KJV)
Everywhere today, you find disagreements, conflicts, and disputes. People are impatient with one another. They are quick to judge others, and make unfavourable and undesirable conclusions. But it is important to listen to people and understand the reason they acted in the manner they did. They could be under some influence or illusion. They may be experiencing a psychological trauma or a disillusionment, lost hope or become disenchanted.
We must learn to look at matters from the cause, in order to have lasting and better solution. Jesus gave us an example to follow in the John 8:11: “She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more” (KJV).
The woman was caught in adultery and was condemned by the Jews. But they did not think about the reason she lived that kind of life. He taught us to deal with the cause of issues and not to treat the symptoms’
- Check your behaviour pattern and reactions and align them properly.
- Lord, forgive me my days of judging and condemning others.
