TEXT: JEREMIAH 26:1-6
MEMORY VERSE: “Thus saith the LORD: Stand in the court of the Lord’s house, and speak unto all the cities of Judah, which come to worship in the Lord’s house, all the words that I command thee to speak unto them: diminish, not a word” (Jeremiah 26:2).
The content of God’s word determines the impact it would make on the people. When the word of God is preached in its undiluted state, it convicts the heart and fulfils its purpose in the heart and life of people. There is need to be consistent in teaching or preaching the true gospel, without worthless embellishments or deducting from the truth, and acceptable standard.
The pure gospel enables people to know the truth, imbibe it, and practice it. Consequently, they would be able to live sanctified life. God’s will for us is that the shepherds should nurture the congregations appropriately with the spiritual food in its raw or truest form. They must not take away any part or add to it (Rev. 22:18-19).
We must be conscious to do the right things wherever we find ourselves in the work of God or even in our private life or business. There is always a standard to be followed. We should stick to the set standard, and not go below it. The standard of the Christian life God expects us to live is the life of Jesus Christ the Lord. Any lower standard is not acceptable to Him.
In our career or profession, we are expected to excel above the people of the world because we are God’s children and the inheritors of His goodness. We should be diligent in the business of our Christian life, and race. Let us not lower the standard.
- Learn to relate God’s word to the people undiluted
- Understand that the privilege you have of speaking for God must not be abused
- Father, thank you for the privilege of being made to speak for you; forgives my days of diminishing your word. Help me to henceforth speak the truth in its raw form for the salvation of souls, in Jesus Name.
