TEXT: JOHN 10:1-16
MEMORY VERSE: “I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.” John 10:9 KJV
The process of entering into a place is if utmost importance for anyone who desires or wants his mission accomplished. This is hinged on the fact that the mood or way you enter determines the kind of reception you will be accorded. In a conventional house, there appears to be more windows that the doors. The windows and doors share similarities but with different purposes. While the window is basically for illumination and ventilation, the door illuminates, ventilates and also serve as a passageway.
To mistake the window for the door will require an extra exercise, struggles, and would certainly need to pass through strain, with the attendant pains. One may be labelled a thief or a burglar. (John 10:10). Unfortunately, so many folks, Christians alike, have thrown caution to the wind by jumping several windows, and ignoring the Door. This they do by patronizing fake prophets, using all manners of fetish and diabolic means to achieve a particular aim. Some are into witchcraft and occultism because of their craving for prosperity. But the question is, Is it worth it? When there is a door, why go through the window? ESOCS Devotional 12 June

Salvation: “I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved…”The Door guarantees your salvation from demonic oppression, arrows of the evil ones, and conspiracy of the wicked. You could obtain whatever you need from the Door. Go to Him. He has a glorious name that you could use as a cover and defence. The Bible says, “The Name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.” (Prov. 18:10). The Door is salvation personified. He is the Saviour Himself, the Lord of heaven and earth; the Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, it is not possible to enter into Him and not be saved. No Sir! Jesus is the Saviour whose capabilities are never in doubt (John 4:42; Acts 4:12). To go through Him is to be saved in life, and for eternity.
Liberty: “…and shall go in and out…” Going through the Door arrests and changes all forms of bondage and captivity mentality. It gives you freedom from mental and intellectual slavery, and keeps you at ease. Look at this, you would go in and out without restrictions, limitations, no hindrance, and no hurdles at all: “If the Son (the Door) therefore shall set you free, you shall be free indeed” (John 8:36 – paraphrased); “Now the LORD is that spirit: where the spirit of the LORD is there is liberty” (2 Cor. 3:27). Go through the Door today and be liberated from all forms of captivity.
Supernatural Access to Divine Provisions: “…and find pasture”. The Door gives you divine access to everything you would ever need in life. To enter into the door is to be out of scarcity for life. The Psalmist says, “Thou will show me the path of life; in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right there are pleasure for evermore” (Psalm 16:11); “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want” (Psalm 23:1). Access to wealth, prosperity, success, favour, breakthrough, healing, abundance is guaranteed in the Door when you enter into Him.
BOTTOM LINE: Stop patronizing the windows; go through the Door and you will never regret you did.
CHALLENGES
- Take your mind and faith off fake prophets and the use of fetish and demonic elements or materials for prayers.
- Believe only in Jesus as the Door to every solution you will ever require in life.
- Take that step of faith and go into Jesus now!
PRAYER POINT: Father, I thank you for providing the Door of Salvation in all areas of my life. Help me go through this Door and possess the possession there, in Jesus name. Amen.
