TEXT: JOHN 6:1-14
MEMORY VERSE: “And a great multitude followed him, because they saw his miracles which he did on them that were diseased” (John 6:2 KJV).
True success is not defined in the earthly things you amass, nor is it in the status anyone can attain. Your life defines success by the result that comes out of it. What makes life meaningful is the dimension of positive effects people get from you. Jesus said, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good work, and glorify your Father which is in heaven`” (Matt. 5:16 KJV).
Your life produces results, and these results do not just affect you but all whom God has placed around you. The life you live should be result oriented, touching others, and causing transformation in them. We would have loved to say a Christian life; but no, because the Christian life should not be anything different from your life. So, you don’t have a life you live when you are around God’s people, and another one you live when you are elsewhere. It should just one life – a Christian life.
What do people notice when they come in contact with you? In verse 2 of our key text, Jesus witnessed much followership because people saw good results. How resourceful is your life today?
Your location is not a barrier. John the Baptist was in the wilderness; yet he made much impact: the whole region went in search of him.
A Christian’s life should radiate love, joy, and peace wherever he goes. People who come in contact with him should have reason to thank God after the encounter.
- What things that make you not able to affect others positively.
- Father, grant me the grace to be useful to others.
