The Rivers State Government has announced that it is developing a data base of environmental challenges in Rivers State. This is in order to design an environmental development plan.
The Commissioner of Environment, Ibikis Tamuno made this known at a media briefing to mark the World Earth Day.
Ibikis called for the inclusion of climate change in schools’ curriculum. He also advocated for the end of deforestation and gas flaring to help save the environment.
We hope to put together a database of environmental challenges, so as to recognize all environmental challenges, he noted.
