Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has faulted the decision of the National Assembly for political parties to choose their flagbearers through direct primaries.
The National Assembly had yesterday, agreed that political parties in Nigeria should adopt direct primaries to all elective positions.
However, Wike in a statement shortly after the decision was reached, said it was wrong for the National Assembly to dictate to political parties.
According to him, parties should be allowed to choose their own pattern.
The Governor, also said electronic transmission of result should be allowed for free, fair and credible elections.
He stated that only people who like to rig election would not like electronic transmission of election results.
