Men suspected to be military officers have reportedly arrested some youths protesting along the East-West road in Rivers State, today.
The youths, were protesting over the failure of the Federal Government to fix the bad spot of the Akpajo section of the road.
Sources say the armed officers fully dressed in army uniforms stormed the protest venue and arrested some of the youths despite it being a peaceful protest.
The youths, had blocked the roads with trucks and prevented vehicular movement along the very busy road.
They had issued an ultimatum to the Federal Government through the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio, threatening to barricade the road if they fail to fix the bad spot after the expiration of the ultimatum.
The number of persons arrested is still unknown.
