A Rivers farmer identified as Kingsley Ogu has said that the distribution of Improved Cassava stem to farmers in the state by the government was done politically.
Ogu, in a chat with journalists in Port Harcourt, over the weekend said real farmers in the state did not receive the cassava stem.
He said the real farmers were not carried along as only the political class had access to the stem.
Ogu explained that if community leaders, youth and women leaders were involved in the distribution, it would have gotten to real farmers in the state.
He called on the state government to assist the real and farmers in the state.
