The Delta State Police Command has arrested a 44-year-old content creator, identified as Odogwu Asaba, over allegations of raping a 21-year-old woman who reportedly died by suicide after the incident.
According to reports, the victim was allegedly lured to Asaba by the suspect with the promise of assistance before the alleged assault occurred.
Confirming the arrest on Wednesday, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, said the suspect was taken into custody on Tuesday at his residence in Asaba following a petition submitted by human rights activist, Comrade Israel Joe.
Police said the suspect remains in custody and is alleged to have confessed during the investigation.
Reacting to the arrest, Comrade Israel Joe praised the Delta State Police Command for its swift action and called for justice to be served in the case.
