The Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide has shut down operations at flow stations linked to Oil Mining Leases (OML) 30 and 42 in Delta State over a massive oil spill that has polluted waterways, killed aquatic life, destroyed farmlands and disrupted fishing activities in affected riverine communities.
The council is demanding urgent environmental action to address the pollution and its impact on affected communities.
