DCLM Daily Manna 5 October 2026: Obtain Heaven’s Endorsement
KEY VERSE: “And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him: And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased” (Mark 1:10,11).
TEXT: MARK 1:9–15
It came to pass in those days that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan. 10 And immediately, coming up from the water, He saw the heavens parting and the Spirit descending upon Him like a dove. 11 Then a voice came from heaven, “You are My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
12 Immediately the Spirit drove Him into the wilderness. 13 And He was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted by Satan, and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered to Him.
14 Now after John was put in prison, Jesus came to Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, 15 and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.”

From the very beginning, God’s plan for redemption unfolded with unmistakable clarity, focusing on Jesus, the Saviour. When He rose from the waters of baptism, He did not rise alone. The Father and the Holy Spirit united to bear witness to and endorse His earthly life and ministry, ensuring that nothing would hinder heaven’s ultimate purpose for mankind.
Remarkably, Jesus began His ministry only after receiving the Father’s approval and the Spirit’s empowerment. Heaven opened, the Father spoke, and the Holy Spirit descended upon Him in a visible form, establishing for us a divine pattern for ministry. Christ’s experience teaches that those called to God’s work must first fulfil all righteousness through genuine salvation, scriptural water baptism, sanctification, and then heaven’s endorsement through the baptism of the Holy Ghost. This is the way to secure the support of the Trinity and receive the assurance of success in life. Believers must avoid unprepared and presumptuous assumptions of calling or rushing into ministry without getting the endorsement of heaven.
Just as Jesus overcame Satan’s relentless temptations after being empowered by the Spirit, believers can only triumph over the challenges of their calling when clothed with the power of the Holy Ghost. This divine confirmation was not just a declaration; it was heaven’s undeniable seal upon Christ’s mission. It confirmed that Jesus was not merely another prophet but The Prophet promised by God, the fulfilment of divine prophecy and the embodiment of God’s redemptive plan.
Christ’s ministry transcends nations, ethnic groups, and boundaries, reaching every tribe and tongue. His mission was, and still is, for you. No one who calls upon Him is ever rejected, for His heart remains open to all repentant souls seeking His kingdom. Christ has delegated the same power to believers to accomplish and exceed what He was able to accomplish within the short period of His earthly ministry. In Him, we find life, purpose and eternal fulfilment.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
What makes a difference in life is neither skills nor ability, but heaven’s endorsement.
