Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has announced his decision to formally join the Accord Party, aligning with his uncle and Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke.
The singer made the disclosure on Tuesday via his verified X (formerly Twitter) account, where he revealed plans to travel to Osogbo, the Osun State capital, on Wednesday to collect his party membership card.
Davido stated that he would be at the Accord Party secretariat located at Imole House in Osogbo, signalling his official entry into partisan politics.
The development comes less than two weeks after Governor Ademola Adeleke adopted the Accord Party as his new political platform ahead of the 2026 Osun State governorship election.
Governor Adeleke had formally announced his defection on December 9, 2025, during an event held at the Banquet Hall of the Government House in Osogbo, attended by national and state leaders of the Accord Party.
Davido’s move is expected to further boost the party’s visibility, especially among young people and supporters of the globally celebrated music star.
