Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has appealed to United States President Donald Trump and the international community to pay close attention to the situation in Osun State ahead of the governorship election.
Davido, in a post on X, expressed concern over growing tensions and the possibility of violence, intimidation and disruption of the electoral process.
He urged relevant authorities to ensure that residents of Osun State are able to exercise their constitutional right to vote freely, peacefully and without fear.
The singer also called for the protection of voters and respect for their votes, stressing the need for peace, transparency and a free and fair election.
“We do not want bloodshed. We do not want intimidation. We want peace, transparency, and a free and fair election,” he said.
