Residents of Dick Tiger street in Diobu, Port Harcourt were thrown into panic this morning as suspected cultists clashed in the area leaving scores injured.

An eyewitness who pleaded anonymity said he was inside his shop when he saw a group of boys running after suspected members of a rival cult with machetes and bottles.

He said minutes later the boys reinforced and came back to confront those who chased them earlier.

According to him, the cultists inflicted injuries on each other while chanting “una no reach.”

He said the fight lasted for minutes and that residents scampered for safety for fear of being hit by bottles thrown all over the place.

He also said they experience such incidents on weekly basis and called on the Police to always patrol the street to ensure the safety of residents and passersby.

Our correspondent who visited the area reported that blood stains and pieces of broken bottles were seen on the road.

He noted that  normalcy has been restored in the area but, there is still tension in the neighbourhood.
