Former Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, has vowed to establish the Rainbow Coalition in Imo State to mobilise support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Okorocha commended the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, for promoting the Rainbow Coalition, saying he would return to Imo State to begin the initiative.
His remarks came on Thursday, following a Federal High Court ruling in Abuja that recognised him as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Imo West Senatorial District in the 2027 elections, replacing Governor Hope Uzodimma. .
Okorocha said the coalition would bring members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) together to support Tinubu, adding that some political actors would have to step down from their positions to achieve their common goal.
“Hope cannot carry Imo State. It’s only in Abuja/Villa that Hope Uzodimma exists,” he said in an apparent jab at the incumbent governor.
