The Federal Fire Service in Rivers State, says its personnel escaped a mob action at the Nembe Waterside Jetty in Port Harcourt, Today.
Commander of the Federal Fire Service in the state, Abdullahi Alfa Audu made this known in a chat with journalists.
He said his men were pelted with stones when they arrived the scene, as they were accused of coming late.
He stated that their car was vandalised and that it took the intervention of police officers to calm the situation.
Audu, explained that they arrived the scene in time, immediately they were informed of the fire incident.
He called for proper sensitization of residents on what to do in times of emergency, and advised residents to call whenever their is a fire outbreak.
