Rivers State recorded 6 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. The total number of confirmed cases in the state still stands at 2969 with 2,804 discharged and 59 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
In total, Nigeria recorded 169 new cases of the virus. Kaduna recorded the highest number of cases with – (74), FCT (42), Lagos (17), Kano (8) Ogun (6), Oyo (6), Rivers (6), Ekiti (3), Bauchi (3), Katsina (2), Delta (1) and Ondo (1).
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 66,974 with 62,585 and 1,169 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure.
