Rivers State recorded 27 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 3151 with, 2904 discharged and 60 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
In total, Nigeria recorded 418 new cases of the virus. Lagos recorded the highest number of cases with – (113), FCT (86), Abia (47), Kaduna (39), Rivers (27), Katsina (22), Benue (14), Oyo (13), Kano (12), Enugu (8), Edo (7), Imo (7), Bauchi (6), Ebonyi (6), Ogun (6), Ondo (4), and Nasarawa (1).
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 73,175 with 66,090 and 1,197 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure.
