Rivers State recorded 10 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 2,857 with 2,709 discharged and 59 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
In total, Nigeria recorded 223 new cases of the virus. Lagos State recorded the highest number of cases with – (85), FCT (35), Akwa Ibom (24), Enugu (18), Plateau (13), Rivers (10), Abia (7), Ebonyi (6), Anambra (5), Adamawa (4), Bauchi (3), Imo (3), Ogun (3), Oyo (3), Kwara (2), Osun (1), and Taraba (1).
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 63731 with 59,844 and 1,154 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure.
