Rivers State has recorded 39 new cases of the COVID-19. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 631 with 244 discharged and 25 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
The Centre also announced 490 new cases of the virus in the country. Lagos recorded the highest number of cases with – 142; FCT-60; Bayelsa-54; Rivers-39; Delta-37; Oyo-30; Kaduna-26; Imo-23; Enugu-19; Kwara-17; Gombe-11; Ondo-10; Bauchi-8; Ogun-7; Borno-6; and Benue-1.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 17,148 with 5,623 discharged and 455 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure. The commission advised Nigerians not to panic over the increased cases, as the country is on course to curb the spread of the virus
