Rivers State recorded 18 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 6,003 with 5,575 discharged and 88 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of COVID-19.
In total, Nigeria recorded 574 new Cases. Kwara recorded the highest number with – 98, Lagos- 81, Edo- 59, Ondo- 44, FCT- 41, Kano- 34, Ogun- 33, Kaduna- 29, Osun- 28, Enugu- 23, Rivers- 18, Delta-16, Akwa Ibom-15, Bauchi-12, Imo-10, Borno-8, Niger-8, Kebbi-7, Nasarawa-5, Gombe-3 and Ekiti-2.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 146,928 with 123,009 recovered patients, and 1,761 deaths.
The commission has advised Nigerians to Remember to wash their hands at these critical times:
Before and after eating or preparing a meal.
Before wearing a face mask.
After using sanitary facilities.
After sneezing and coughing and upon arrival at work or back home.
